Hardsuit Labs has ceased supporting Blacklight: Retribution will shut down its PC servers on 11th March, 2019.
In a recent post (through ResetEra) on Steam, the developer mentioned whereas it’d bought quite a lot of “pleasure” out of Blacklight, “the fact is Hardsuit Labs has been engaged for a while now in some very fascinating initiatives that require the complete focus of the event groups and management”.
“All good issues should come to an finish, and so it’s with Blacklight: Retribution,” the submit says. “Thanks a lot in your loyal help, and love through the years. From the preliminary PC Closed Beta in November 2011 to immediately, it has been an excellent 7+ years. The enjoyment that we bought out of Blacklight: Retribution is a testomony to you the followers; your loyalty, dedication, help, and supreme willingness to attempt our enjoyable, quirky FPS.”
Consequently, the crew will not be “patching, updating, or doing technical help for Blacklight Retribution” on both PC or PlayStation 4. Account migration has now formally shut down, together with the official help web site.
As a remaining hurrah, all objects within the PC retailer have been made free, and the crew hopes gamers “proceed to benefit from the sport and objects up till the PC servers are shut down on March 11th, 2019”. As there are “no sport servers being hosted for it”, the PS4 model will proceed to function “as-is”.
“As a studio, Blacklight: Retribution will at all times have a particular place in our hearts,” the submit concludes. “One that’s largely as a result of our superb neighborhood, so thanks to all of the Blacklight: Retribution followers on the market.”
